ONE YEAR TO A LIFE TURNED UPSIDE DOWN
We have devoted a sermon series based on the book, Radical, by David Platt. It is his belief, and mine, that we can turn our lives around if we will devote one year to the following disciplines. To help in this project, we are putting different study aids on our website.
1. Pray for the entire world . Most of us pray for our families and friends.What if we were to systematically pray for the entire world? Check out www.operationworld.org.
2. Read through the entire bible. I hope that we make bible reading a priority. But let’s commit to reading through the whole bible in one year. Here is one plan to do just that. Bible reading Plan.
3. Sacrifice my money for a specific purpose. The key words here are sacrifice and specific purpose. Find a purpose within the church that you feel God is behind and back it with all you have.
4. Spend my life in another context. Get out of your comfort zone. Work with the youth or with PORT if you have never done that. Never been on a mission trip far away? Do it. Go to Haiti and see how the Third World lives.
5. Commit my life to a multiplying community. This means your church and it means truly commit yourself. What can we accomplish together in one year if we throw ourselves into God’s work?
